Alaska Eagle will cruise the waters off Catalina Island this summer and then down the West Coast of Mexico this fall in the annual Baja HaHa.

'Round Catalina

Inspired by circumnavigators?  Be one!  Join un as Alaska Eagle heads to Catalina for a three day spin around the island.  Sailing, anchoring, dingy driving and steering are all part of learning how to sail a big boat in a beautiful setting.

Baja Ha Ha - Adventures in Mexico

The Baja haha is the grand daddy of West Coast Rallys, attracting nearly 200 boats of fun-loving cruisers from all over the United States.  Stops in the rustic village of Turtle Bay and beautiful Bahia Santa Maria are punctuated with Beach parties and family-friendly socializing with other cruisers.

Along with exquisite sailing, you'll steer, keep watch, navigate and partake in the informal races that are part of the rally.

Return of the Baja Bash

Neither for the faint of heart nor the faint of stomach, this trip is ideal for thos who want to test their coastal skills in a variety of conditions.  Alaska Eagles is built for this type of upwind voyage.  Using the onboard systems of AIS, Radar and GPS to navigate up the Baja coast, you'll anchor in Turtle Bay and, weather depending, one of the other remote coves.  The skipper and mate will concentrate on teaching traditional navigation, weather routing, reefing and watchkeeping.  You'll also learn how to clear customs in Ensenada and San Diego.

Those who have US Sailing Certifications in Coastal Navigation and Bareboat Cruising are eligible to take the US Sailing Passagemaking practical skills and theory exams on this trip.  Call the office for details.
