Crews are selected by application. Our goal is to form crews that will work
well together and will be able to sail Alaska Eagle safely in all conditions.
Crewmembers must be at least 18 years of age. Selection is based on demonstrated interest in sailing and navigation, experience, physical fitness and a willingness to work well with others in all aspects of shipboard routine. Additional skills (medical, electrical, culinary, comedic) are also sought.
Women and couples are encouraged to apply. Applicants with limited experience or physical abilities who have questions about their participation should contact the School office. We are not looking for expert sailors or those with thousands of miles of experience. Most who sail aboard Alaska Eagle are weekend sailors with a keen interest to learn more.
Upon acceptance, a non-refundable $500 deposit will secure your berth. The balance of the cruise cost is due two months before your trip begins. Crews’ fees cover all operating costs of the vessel, including fuel, food, port fees and repair expenses. Three meals a day are provided on board except for two dinners ashore.
