Four day live aboard cours eon operating today's big sailboats 45 to 70 feet

This four day live aboard course is full of fun sailing and learning about all the systems in a modern $2 Million cruising sailboat. A focus will be put on two key areas of big boat handling that require good skills: sail handling and docking. In addition you'll get hands on instruction/training in the following areas:

• Docking with a bow thruster
• In-Boom furling
• Hydraulic headsail furling
• Electric winch systems
• Anchoring systems
• Power management (batteries/inverters/generators)
• Communications (SSB, VHF, SatPhone)
• Nav instruments (Radar, Wind & Depth, GPS, autopilot)
• Galley management (refrigeration/cooking/stowage)
• Watermaker and water conservation

The Bluefin is in pristine condition with a large teak interior. The first day is spent reviewing systems and docking. Friday will be spent sailing to Long Beach harbor and exploring this interesting commercial harbor. From Long Beach, Bluefin will sail to Catalina on Saturday, anchoring in a sheltered cove for the night before returning home to Newport.
