  • Be able to swim
  • Receive a passing grade on the written test

Candidates must also be able to demonstrate satisfactory knowledge and ability to perform dockside and on the water skills to pass the practical on-the-water portion of the certification.

Written Exam

The written exam is a two part exam. Part One concerns the Lido and the OCC facility, and Part Two tests candidates on the rules of the road. The exam may be taken anytime during regular business hours and candidates should allow approximately 2 hours.

Upon receiving a passing grade on the written exam candidates can schedule the final practical exam.

Practical Exam

Candidates should anticipate single handing the Lido 14 while demonstrating competency in sailing off the dock, tacking, jibing, stopping, crew overboard recovery, and returning to the dock.
