The OCC School of Sailing & Seamanship is pleased to offer summer youth sailing instruction to all children ages 7 to 16. We will have four two-week sessions for beginning students and nine one-week sessions of varying levels for returning students. Our multilevel system allow sailors who are interested in multiple weeks to advance from Learn to Sail Level 1 to Advanced Level 1. If your child has not sailed since last summer we encourage you to let him or her repeat the last class they participated in - this especially applies to younger sailors.
Our summer staff is comprised of experienced US SAILING certified instructors and several junior assistants who will insure a fun and safe learning experience by combining classroom instruction with games and lots of time on the water sailing. OCC is an ideal place for your child to learn about sailing and the marine environment.
Students must be able to swim 50 yards and a swim test will be give on the first day of class. Students should bring a life jacket, hat, change of clothes, towel, sunscreen and snack each day.
Few sports offer as much freedom and choice as sailing. Our junior summer sailing camps provide all youth with a fun and safe sailing program where they can learn about sailing, develop new interests and discover a new understanding and respect for themselves, the environment and those around them.
